Parties Involved:

• Client: The entity commissioning the production of the web series based on the Chipko Andolan (Uttarakhand).
• Production Company: The party responsible for creating, producing, and delivering the web series.

₹50,000 for 3 Episodes (inclusive of all applicable taxes).

Scope of Work:

The production company will create a 3-episode web series about the Chipko Andolan, focusing on its historical significance, local heroes, and its impact on environmental conservation. The series will be in both local Uttarakhand dialect and Hindi to reach a broader audience.

1. Episode 1: The Origins of the Chipko Movement

   • Focus on the early years of the movement in Uttarakhand, tracing the roots of environmental activism.
   • Key historical figures, including the role of Sunderlal Bahuguna, will be highlighted.

2. Episode 2: The Struggles and Challenges

   • Exploration of the challenges faced by activists and locals in the fight against deforestation.
   • Narratives of the women and local communities involved in the movement.

3. Episode 3: The Impact and Legacy of Chipko Andolan

   • The long-term effects of the Chipko Andolan on environmental policy and forest conservation efforts.
   • Interviews with current environmental leaders and activists who were influenced by the movement.

• Pre-production:

  1. Script development in consultation with the client, ensuring accuracy and depth of content.
  2. Casting of local actors/narrators and selection of appropriate locations in Uttarakhand for shooting.

Timeline:

The entire production process will be completed within 12 weeks, broken down as follows:

1. Week 1-2: Scriptwriting, casting, and pre-production planning.
2. Week 3-6: Filming of all three episodes.
3. Week 7-9: Post-production (editing, sound, and effects).
4. Week 10-12: Final delivery and promotional materials.

Payment Terms:

1. 25% advance payment upon signing the contract.
2. 25% after completion of pre-production and script approval.
3. 25% after completing the filming phase.
4. 25% upon successful delivery of the final episodes and all associated content.

Intellectual Property Rights:

The client will retain ownership of the rights to the web series, including but not limited to the final episodes, scripts, and promotional content. The production company may use behind-the-scenes content and excerpts for portfolio purposes, but full rights to distribution, sales, and monetization rest with the client.

Confidentiality Clause:

The production company agrees not to disclose any details of the web series, scripts, or production plans to third parties without the client’s prior consent.

Termination Clause:

If either party wishes to terminate the contract:

• A 15-day written notice is required.
• If terminated after the pre-production phase, the client will pay for all work completed up to the termination point.
• If terminated during production or post-production, the client will compensate for the actual work done until the point of termination.
